Summer Semester | Day 01
With the new semester comes a new crop of students ready to learn the art of brick laying and join in the process of a design build project. With only a few students with masonry experience in the yard at Lincoln Park, the work produced on the first day of brick laying was definitely something to be proud of. J.C. Newman decided to skip the CMU block practice for the time being and dive straight into laying the type of building material designed to fit the human hand, the standard brick. Each student is already invested in perfecting their skills in time to take those General Shale bricks on site to craft the Beardsley Farm shelter. Here’s to many more days in the hot sun with wide brimmed hats and mortar boards covered in the carefully mixed cement.
